GAMA is the Group of Africa Member Associations of FIDIC (the International Federation of Consulting Engineers). GAMA usually holds annual conferences in different parts of Africa aimed at promoting the development of engineering consultancy practice throughout Africa.
The 2015 edition of the conference was held in Accra, Ghana, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel from April 12 - 15, 2015, with the following theme:
"Developing and Sustaining Africa's Infrastructure; Promoting African Engineering Consultancy Partnership."
Sub-themes were:
- Africa's Infrastructure and its Environmental, Social and Economic Impacts.
- The Young Professional's View on Africa's Infrastructure.
- Developing Intra-Regional Partnerships Amongst Indigenous African Consulting Firms.
- Strategic Funding of Infrastructure To Accelerate Growth of Consulting Engineering.
- Promoting Effective Partnerships in Oil & Gas Industry Through Capacity Building.
Prominent Experts and industry Leaders within and beyond Africa presented papers and exciting discussions were stimulated.
Other events such as tours to historical & engineering monuments, and social & networking activities were also part of the package.
